Setting up a Viewer
A Viewer is any type of Display connected to the Internet and supporting cookies (Smart TV, Tablet, Smartphone, PC, Digital Signage device, etc.)
After registering a Viewer, you can broadcast content coming from the ROOMZ Portal v2 on it (for example a Live Floorplan, or a Flightboard)
Registration of a Private viewer:
On the device you would like to register as a Viewer, reach the following page: https://viewer.roomz.io, you'll arrive on a page showing a Pin Code
On the ROOMZ Portal, reach Setup - Viewers, and choose Add viewer
Name the Viewer, enter the Pin Code displayed on the device, and choose Save & Add
The connection to the Viewer is now open, your viewer does now show it's name, and not the Pin Code anymore
You can now decide what you would like to broadcast on this viewer, follow the instruction on this page
Registration of a Public Viewer:
With this version of the viewer, you'll be able to generate a public URL.
Opening this URL on any device connected to the Internet will show the visualization.
The URL is public, and the device displaying it must not be registered. The visualization could also be displayed outside of your organization, if the URL is known.
Go to Visualizations and open or create a Visualization
When Editing, you'll find an option called Public Access URL
Choose Activated and Save
You will get a link.
This link can be opened on any web browser, or implemented for example in any Digital Signage program.
